Saying what you mean

Today I received the most beautiful email from my friend Lorinda. A list of things on her mind. General thoughts and profound wisdoms. Heart-felt love poured from that letter and into me.

People like these seldom call themselves writers. They simply feel so deeply that they manage to find the exact word to express it. The right, precise, meaningful word where nothing is implied. It’s said as simply as daylight.

Writing that really communicates does that. The writer finds the deep truth. Then captures it in a word or sentence that’s a revelation. She makes it seem so simple.
